Maria Krushelnytzka
(Ukraine)
Maria Krushenytzka was born on December 1934 in Kharkiv. She received her music education in Lviv and at her postgraduate degree with Mr.Henrich Neuhaus in Moscow.
Since 1960 she has been working at the Lysenko Conservatory in Lviv.
Among her graduates are very talented and eminent pianists such as Yozef Ermin.
Since 1991 she has held the position of Rector of the Lviv Conservatory.
In
1962 she was rewarded as a laureate of the first Lysenko Competition. She performed
extensively all over Ukraine and abroad. Her repertoire includes works of the
world classics though she devotes her art mostly to spreading Ukrainian music.
Many of her performances of the national music heritage, are stored in radio
recordings. She has recorded discs with works of L.Revutzky and S.Ludkevytch.
Often she has been the first interpreter of the
music of modern Ukrainian composers.
In
1991 she was named Honoured Artist of Ukraine.
