Arcady Sevidov

Born in 1947 in an old Russian town of Yelets.

Arcady Sevidov studied at the Central Secondary Music School of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Natalia Lyubomudrova. His tutors at the Moscow Conservatory were Professors Lev Oborin and Boris Zemlyansky, outstanding pianists and teachers. They exerted a tremendous influence on the shaping of Arcady Sevidov' personality, and he is still guided by what his teachers have instilled in him.

In 1969, when still a student of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Arcady Sevidov won the First Prize at the USSR Competition of Young Pianists and was awarded a special prize for the best interpretation of Tchaikovsky's music. His subsequent success at the 4-th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1970 proved that this victory had not been accidental. Since his triumph of 1970 Sevidov has been engaged in active concert activities, appearing in the best concert halls in the Soviet Union and all over the world.

His repertoire covers a wide range, including the music by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Schumann, Musorgsky, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev.

Today Sevidov enjoys the reputation of a mature pianists, an outstanding musician who can grasp the innermost meaning of the works performed and provide deep insights into musical images.

Arcady Sevidov is fond of ensemble music-making. Arcady Sevidov makes extensive tours in Russia and abroad including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg and others.

The BMG Company issued 6 CD with recorded composition of Tchaikovsky, Musorgsky, Skryabin including all 3 piano concertos by Tchaikovsky. Arcady Sevidov holds regular master-classes in various cities of Russia, CIS and Japan; also he has a long and rich of being a member of jury at many international piano competitions.

Arcady Sevidov is a People's Artist of Russia, Professor, teaches in Moscow Concervatory named by P. Tchaikovsky and Russian Academy of Music named by Gnesinyh. He is Irina Arhipova's Foundation prize-winner.
