Anatoliy Zatin

      Anatoliy Zatin is a pianist, composer, condactor and teacher. He was born in 1954 in Uzhgorod in a family of musicians. He got his musical education at Uzhgorod State Musical High School as a pianist (1977) and at Leningrad State Conservatory as a pianist and composer (1977) and in 1987 graduated from the graduate center as a composer.

      The creative heritage of A.Zatin consists of more than 50 pieces of different forms and genres. Among them there are 2 symphonies, opera “Horrible Nightmares in Kherson Province”, ballets “Fabric” and “Chief of darkskinned”, two operettas, instrumental concertos, pieces for chamber orchestra and ensembles, musical background for cinematography.

       In 1979 he joined the Union of Composers of the USSR. The technique of A.Zatin as a composer was several time awarded at different competitions: the 1st prize at the Competition of Young Composers of Ukraine, at the Competition of the Pieces of Theatre and Music in the USSR (1967), the Nina Rota International Competition (Italy, 1989, at the International Festival of Contemporary Music (Korea, 1985) and others.

       Anatoliy Zatine works creatively as a teacher. He taught at the Musorgsky Music Academy, from 1992 – 1996 he has hold master classes in piano and conducting in different universities of Mexico, in 1999 – 2000 he was invited to Austria master classes. Since September 1996 he is the General Director of the Zatin International Academy. His students successfully participate at many concerts and competitions.

      A repertoire of A.Zatin, pianist and conductor, consists of different epochs and styles including music of the XVIth century as well as modern compositions. He has successfully toured in different countries of the world. 

      During 1988 – 1991 he made records with Leningrad State Orchestra in “Melodia” Records Co, during 1998 – 1999 “Azura Music” produced a CD of world classics under A.Zatin.

      In 1990 Anatoliy Zatin received an Honour Medal from the UNECEF for his concert activity.
