The concert tour winners of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in the U.S.A.

International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, which was founded in 1995, not only discovers talented musicians, but also helps pianists, who has already became the prize-winners, to improve their skills. Win and money prize are not the only important things for musicians, the main thing is receiving engagements: concerts and performances, which traditionally competitions provide. Therefore, one of the main field of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz activities is organizing of numerous tours, concerts of prize-winners of the Competition in Ukraine and abroad.
Talented pianists were applauded by audiences in Australia, Belarus, Great Britain, Greece, Estonia, Egypt, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, China, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, South Korea, Poland, Russian Federation, Romania, Serbia, USA, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Japan.
There were conducted more than 250 concerts of prize-winners in 33 countries during the period from 1995 till 2013.
These events are attracted media attention and cover on television, radio, print media not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. Moreover, thare are several documentary films, for instance, there is a film about concert tour of prize-winners in Hungary. Additionally, studio "Contact" made a film about Horowitz, which is called "Variation of Destiny", and this movie was shown on TV. Reports about developments of the Competition and prize-winners were shown on Euronews. And advertising about the Competition are published in the internationally renowned annual music catalogs: "Musical America", "PAYE".
Concert tour to the U.S.A. of prize-winners of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz is currently preparing, as a continuation of tour activities.
The Competition constantly collaborates with prominent artists and cultural figures from the U.S.A. Among the members of the jury were: Sussan Starr (1995), Mykola Suk (1995, 1997, 1999 , 2003, 2010), Martin Canin (1997), Jerome Lowenthal (1999 , 2001), Vladimir Viardo (2001 ), David Dubal (2001), Daniel Pollack (2001), Namik Sultanov (2002 ), Boris Bloch (2003), Nelita True (2003), Jerome Rose ( 2005), Oksana Yablonska (2005), Valida Rassoulova - Suk (2006, 2008 , 2011, 2013 ), Dr. Mark P. Malkovich III ( 2007), Yakov Kasman (2007, 2010). In addition, American pianists repeatedly became winners of the Competition: Antonio Gomez (III Prize, Intermediate group, 1995), Brian Wallick (I Prize, Intermediate group, 1997), Jian Liu (III Prize, Intermediate group, 1999).

This year winners of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz were invited again to the USA. During the concert tour on December the concerts of prize-winners - Roman Lopatinskii (I Prize, Intermediate group, 2010) and Aleksandra Kasman (II Prize, Junior group, 2008) - will be hold in New York and Washington.

December 13 - Awards Dinner and Gala Concert "Celebrating Stars of Ukraine" will be held in the Hotel Willard, the concert is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music

 

 

Aleksandra Kasman (USA)
(II Prize of the VIIIth International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, Junior Group)
Aleksandra was born on the 29th of May 1995 in Moscow, Russian Federation.
Currently she is a freshman at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she continues studying with her father - Professor Yakov Kasman.
Since 2003 Aleksandra has won numerous local, state, and regional competitions, as well as national and international competitions. Moreover, she participates in international music festivals ("the Kyiv Music Evenings" and etc.). Aleksandra made her European solo debut recital in November 2009 at Salle Cortot, in Paris, France.

Roman Lopatynskyi (Ukraine)
(Ist Prize of the VIII International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, Intermediate Group)
Roman was born on the 29th of June 1993 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Since he was 5 years old, he has studied at Kyiv Lysenko Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School, class of Professor Iryna Barinova, Professor Sergey Riabov.
Since 2009 he has been a student at the International piano academy "Incontri col Maestro" (Italy), class of Professor Borys Petrushanskyy, and also he is a student at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine class of Professor Sergey Riabov.
Roman Lopatynskyi is a prize winner of numerous international competitions.
